

Day 1: Unusual accommodation for a guaranteed change of scenery! What an arrival! The photos of your Domaine des Ormes accommodation made your mouth water, but „in real life“, as your daughter says, it’s even better. Everyone got their bearings in your cottage’hut with „oh!“ and „ah! A cabin in Canada with the comforts of an English cottage for a week is going to be great. The children are already off to try their hand at zip-lining. The suitcases will be waiting to be emptied: your swimming costume, a towel and you’re off to the pools.
Day 2: A life-size pop-up Between the smoke signals of the American Indians and our smartphones, there was the Chappe télégraphe at the end of the 18th century. In Saint-Marcan, in the museum that traces the history of this first telephone network, you can see that the mechanism is still working. If one day there’s no more bucket, you’ll know where to go…You didn’t have to look long for a place to eat: the Ferme du Télégraphe is just around the corner, with its organic brasserie and crêperie. The atmosphere is friendly, the food succulent and the place soothing. As isthe marshes of Sougeal, classified as a Remarkable Area of Brittany, where you spend part of the afternoon. Day 3: Time travel à Intra-Muros
From the entrance to Saint-Malo, you follow the signs to park quickly at the parking relais Paul Féval. The free shuttle bus takes you to the foot of the ramparts in just a few minutes. The family is ready to board! In the car, during the journey, you’ll have worked out the difference between pirate and privateer, so as not to make any mistakes. No one wants to end up tied up to a ship. <L’intra-muros is an open-air museum that will delight you. A summer exhibition has taken place in the Saint-Sauveur chapel, a former religious building. At the same time, the Mystère & Cie shop was a hit with children. You promised to take them there after the exhibition. Climbing over fraternity gates, exploring a maze of alleyways, running your hand over cannons, squeezing through heaters, and ending the day in the world of Harry Potter… they couldn’t have done it better!“
Day 4: A 100% nature dayAdventure course for one, mini-golf for the other, climbing for the rest of the family: this morning, you stay at Les Ormes to enjoy the estate’s activities and entertainment. You relax on the terrace of your cottage hut, in the peace and sunshine. Taking your time is also part of your holiday. Head for Ding and the Cherie de la Poterie, where fromage blanc, tommes and yoghurts are made with milk from the farm’s 60 goats. Did you tell the children that they were going to learn how to make butter and cream? A few kilometres away, the village of Hédé-Bazouges is in full swing: it is hosting Bonus, a joyful and innovative festival featuring theatre, circus, dance, indoors and in the streets. The meal you buy in the street is a la bonne franquette and is enjoyed to the accompaniment of music while you wait for your show to begin.
Day 5: Gastronomy, crafts and history take centre stage! With apron ready, knives sharpened, the cooking workshop can begin. Fanny teaches you how to prepare seafood, in a professional kitchen. Friendly and caring 2-hour Retour de pêche workshops. Mackerel rillettes, snacked scallops, shellfish with parsley butter and seaweed butter… here you are under the chef’s hat. And you know the good news? You’ll be able to enjoy all these dishes at the same time. After the effort, the comfort… Do you know what a malouinière is? No ? Then get in the car to discover the emblematic malouini of la Ville Bague. Wandering through the rich interior and wooded grounds of this beautiful 18th-century house of privateers and shipowners from Saint Malo is a journey back to the time of the Messieurs de Saint-Malo and the racing wars. At Saint-Méloir-des-Ondes, stopping off at l’Atelier du Verre is a great idea. Watching a craftsman blow glass is a fascinating sight. We told you it was going to be a laugh-out-loud Breton affair, and we weren’t lying! The Place aux mômes festival, Cancale, station Sensation Bretagne, delighted the whole family. You’ll still be laughing over your plate at this restaurant in port de la Houle.
Day 6: After cultural discovery, it’s time for leisure activities! The children discover the impressive site of the Eleven Locks in the company of the ânes. With them, you won’t miss a moment of the show and your guide’s fascinating explanations of animal traction along the canals. After the ride and the grooming of your 4-legged companions, push open the door of la Maison du Canal where the history and the natural and cultural heritage of this river link between the West and the Channel are told. Lunch in a guinguette is a calm and peaceful moment. Good, because the afternoon promises to be invigorating: in the parc de loisirs de Cobac Parc, the children have made sure you climb up this slide, which didn’t look so high from the cow floor! But you’re going to have to come down… Breathe, it’s going to be OK. Impatient, the others set off to test the new Tempête attraction. With a name like that, ça must be a real treat. They’ll tell you all about it, it’s ready to go…
Day 7: Go back to the time of the cathedral builders! You’ve been driving around Dol-de-Bretagne since this morning and you’ve fallen under the spell of this gem labelled Petites Cités de Caractère® with its half-timbered houses and winding streets, its Grande Rue des Stuarts, the main thoroughfare with its many shops, its ramparts promenade, and its majestic Saint Samson’s Cathedral. You’ve heard about the beautiful summer exhibition at the Nomino space. It’s 12.30pm and you’ve laid out your picnic on a tablecloth at the top of Mont-Dol. There you can enjoy a 360-degree view over the bay of Mont Saint-Michel. It’s magical. Return to Dol to visit the CathédralOscope, a centre for the interpretation of cathedrals. A stone-cutting workshop will give you an insight into the work of these talented journeymen bâtisseurs and, for an afternoon, you can slip into the clothes of these exceptional men. It’s all set, and when you get back from holiday, you start building a tower at the bottom of the garden. You’ve found everything you need to prepare a meal in your home, so you’re ready to go!
